In the U.S., Rover has fundamentally changed the pet services landscape. Pet care website Rover.com has announced the acquisition of dog walking platform, DogBuddy. The announcement comes just five months after Rover announced its expansion into the United Kingdom. With the acquisition of DogBuddy, Rover has expanded its network of potential sitters and walkers. Th London-based DogBuddy was founded in 2013, and it has provided more than 1 million dog overnight stays with more than 25,000 dog sitters on the platform, compared to 200,000 sitters on Rover.

Their latest funding was raised on May 24, 2018 from a Series G round. Rover is funded by 18 investors. T. Rowe Price and Silicon Valley Bank are the most recent investors. Rover has invested in DogHero on Mar 20, 2019. This investment - Series C - DogHero - was valued at $7M.

The announcement comes just five months after Rover announced its expansion into the United Kingdom.
